Dance Medicine is the practice of healing and preventing dance-related
injuries through physical therapy, cross training, nutrition services, and
education programs specialized for dancers. Dance Medicine looks at the
musculoskeletal component of the injury, as well as how the intensity of the
training and performance affects the dancer. Movement re-education and
nutrition is also explored. Aquahab's Jenkintown physical therapists have a
thorough understanding of a dancer‚Äôs technique, which enables them to
provide the appropriate treatment and return the dancer safely back to their
Amy Simelson-Warr, MSPT has over 30 years of physical therapy experience. She
specializes in orthopedics, manual therapy techniques, and is also Graston
Angela Santone, PTA has been a physical therapist assistant and PMA
certi¬≠fied pilates instructor for Aquahab for the last ten years. As a
former professional dancer, she focuses on helping the dancer or athlete
back on their feet, as well as optimizing their full potential in their
field of interest. She recently completed the ‚ÄúPrinciples of Dance
Medicine‚ÄĚ at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at NYU.
Aquahab offers a total wellness program for the dancer and athlete, including
the ability to bridge over to our ¬≠fitness center, as well as offering
nutrition services to ¬≠meet every individual's needs. Services include
weight management, weight optimization, & sports nutrition.
Aquahab also offers pre-professional screenings for dance readiness.
